Guitarist/songwriter Chad “The Kapn” Jordan , bassist/songwriter Randy Houchins met vocalist/songwriter Eric Scott
at an impromptu jam session in the fall of 2007.The three musicians realized that they all shared one musical
vision; that vision would become SOUL. The trio’s vision was to write listener friendly, hooky songs while
combining that with a truly over the top Live show. Jordan, Scott and Houchins began writing material all the
while searching the drummer who would complete the SOUL line-up. While out scouting the local talent Scott ran
in to drummer Jody Osborne who had worked with Scott in an earlier version of Scott’s Soul. Now featuring a
complete line-up the band could begin turning their vision into a reality and immediately began playing
throughout the East Coast club circuit.
In June 2008 SOUL released its debut “This is the Part Where We
Kill You”; Produced by bassist/producer extraordinaire Tim Wilson. The album received substantial airplay
on many internet and satellite radio stations across the U.S. A highlight for SOUL in 2008 was the bands
appearance at the South Texas Rockfest in July. SOUL had the opportunity to appear with such notable bands
as Queensryce, Tesla, and Skid Row. This festival also was an excellent vehicle for the band to introduce
their music to a very receptive Texas crowd which neared 30,000 people.
Also with frequent appearances
as part of the Metal Ink Showcase the band has been performing to crowds which consistently fill venues to
capacity. SOUL is preparing to release “666-Remix” in correlation with the band’s appearance at
Metal Ink’s “HELL RAISERS BALL”. The “Re-Mix” album is a new direction for the group. This release finds
the band re-mixing all songs off their debut album with a Techno/House flavor added in. Starting off 2009
with a bang SOUL was fortunate enough to have a small hand in promoting the hit movie
“My Bloody Valentine 3-D” in correlation with SOUL’s hit single “Bloody Valentine”.
While continuing a constant touring schedule and adding more imprssive elements to their Live shows;
SOUL will be entering the studio once again in early 2009. The band prides
themselves in a Live show that appears to be an arena size production in even the smallest of venues. The band
hopes to leave a lasting impression on all that witness their Live performance and a rough callused scar on the
world of Hard Rock and Roll.
